Having an only daughter myself, I have struggled with this for many months and wondered why this would happen to a little girl who is so vibrant and sweet. I knew Chris and Kristi but had never really spent much time with them other than talking about our Red Raiders. Over the past few months, everytime I saw Chris I tried to engage in specifics about Jessie and what he, as a dad, was going through. Chris was always very informative about everything that was happening in their lives. Through these converstations, Chris has become such an inspiration to me. He is amazing! He and Kristi have been forced to make very difficult choices about Jessie's future; choices that I hope I never have to make. Think how hard it would be to put your child through such an invasive surgery that could kill her and most likely cripple her, in order to save her life.

Now the surgery is over, Jessie is in PICU at Johns Hopkins Hospital, missing the right half of her brain, and she is doing things that was thought not possible this soon after surgery. Things like moving her left arm and squeezing her mom's hand.

There are thousands from Aldeo, across the country, and around the world who have been praying for this little girl. Jessie has touched thousands of lives; prayers have been given up for her, maybe even by people who never pray; and countless people around the country have been following this story on the internet, TV and radio, all witnesses to a real miracle.

Praise God for Jessie! May she continue to improve and touch lives.
